Pianist Laura Leon

PROGRAM NOTE: Lawrence Widdoes was one of my best friends at Juilliard, and he took over my classes when I quit teaching in 1965. He played pretty good jazz piano as well as classical, and it showed in the music he wrote, as it also does in the little Larry Widdoes' Nothing I wrote for him. The title is inspired by the whimsical names Elizabethan composers sometimes gave their pieces. As far as I know, Larry still teaches at The Yard, although, wait a minute, he's a bit older than I am, so maybe he's retired by now. (Peter Schickele)
